I've been making Soda Bread with my Grandmother since I could stand on a stool.
This recipe is very popular on our Breakfast table here at Rigney's Farm.
Ingredients
600g or 5 1/2 cups of Self-Raising flour
2 1/2 cups of buttermilk
Good pinch of salt to taste
Make a well in the flour add the buttermilk and mix quickly to form a soft dough, shape and bake in a hot oven 200C for 45 minutes
Serve warm with butter
